AFED operates under clear, RBM-aligned policies that protect our clients and our institution. Summaries below; full documents are available on request from any branch.
We collect only the client information necessary to assess and manage loans. Personal and financial data is stored securely, never sold to third parties, and shared only where required by law or with client consent.
Loans are sized to a client's proven ability to repay. We do not encourage over-indebtedness, and every client receives a clear breakdown of interest, fees and repayment terms before signing.
All clients are treated fairly regardless of gender, tribe, religion or disability. Staff conduct is governed by a code of ethics, and clients may raise concerns without fear of service disruption.
AFED verifies client identity for every account and loan, monitors transactions for suspicious activity, and complies fully with Malawi's financial crime reporting obligations.
Our complaints process is part of our client protection commitment — and RBM's redress framework backs it up.
Tell us what went wrong. We acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 14 working days, in line with RBM consumer protection guidelines.
